AFOS 3CD remaster - mess ups

Postby LPCDMP3 » Fri Feb 17, 2023 10:49 am

So it's nice to finally have three of the four "Talking" tracks on CD (I can't tell if they're from vinyl, I'm sure someone else can), but unfortunately,
track seven on disc two is the 'Listen' LP version rather than the original Cocteau 7".

Track one of the Janice Long BBC session is actually not "Man Made", it's "Committed."

Another thing that bugs me is that the UK LP features the 12" version of "I Ran" and yet that track is added to disc two.

There were two different single versions of "I Ran". USA had an early fade, which is included on this set, but the UK single version is not.

There's also two single edits of "Space Age Love Song". Would have been nice to have both.
Oh well.

The original 7" mix of Talking is on the compilation Music, Musik & Musique Vol:2. With Space Age... I'm sure you're referring to the standard 7" and a special US edit (DJ Pault) had that on his blogspot a while back?

It sure would be nice to have "Talking" on an A Flock Of Seagulls CD, lol.
They finally got the rights from Cocteau so I'm sure they intended to put the single version (as it is listed as such) on this remaster and someone at the label messed up.

The USA and the UK had different single edits (noticeable right before the vocals start), the USA single edit is on 'Remixes And Rarities',
but it would be nice to have both in this set. On this remaster they used the USA fade of "I Ran" and the UK edit of "Space Age Love Song".

There's also the super short German edit of "Modern Love Is Automatic" (2:39) that could have fit on here.
