I first heard Pop Art back in 1984. Lived in upstate NY at the time, and took the ferry over to Burlington, Vermont about once a month to hit their record shops. My favorite was Pure Pop Records. I would try to pick up at least one record that I was not familiar with, usually it was the record jacket that caught my eye, and if I could afford it, whatever record I selected that I had never heard of became my unknown selection of the month. Pop Art was it that particular trip. It ended up being a fantastic discovery for me. I made a point of hunting down all their releases, even followed David Steinhart solo releases, plus releases by Smart Brown Handbag and The Furious Seasons, both offshoots from Pop Art.

Pop Art did release a Retrospective CD well worth picking up if you like their jangly pop sound. It is excellent. I also stumbled upon an import CD of their Snap, Crackle, Pop Art release on CD. They did release their final studio album on CD Later On...In The Same Life, from 1989.
