I have a song as both an mp3 and on a commercial cd. If I want to import it into iTunes, is it better to use the cd (and import as an mp3), or does it not matter (assuming the bit rate for the mp3 I have is as good or better than what iTunes will let me import a cd track)?

If in doubt, I always like to import it myself. You don't know what the source of the mp3 rip was. It could have been put on a CDR from an mp3 then ripped back or somehow otherwise repeatedly transcoded and thus lost quality along the way - I hate these p
