VH1/MTV censoring

Postby elviscaprice » Sun Dec 14, 2014 2:59 pm

It's amazing what kind of censoring went on in the 80's of music videos. Often times I find myself lost in the screen, matching the music unless I view the uncensored version, then it makes more sense.
Case in point, The Creatures - Standing There - 1989, the censored VH1 version just doesn't have it, whereas the Telegenics uncensored version does. Reason this comes up is that I was working on the remastering of this video today.

MTV is also famous in India. It is very popular in India for its music, reality shows, and youth culture programming.

I know this is an old thread, but I just saw it and had to go compare The Creatures videos to see the difference. I can't believe they felt the need to censor the scenes where the girl pulls off the head of a doll and forcibly puts lipstick on Budgie. Just ridiculous.
