What band had the video featuring blue laser light

I remember a video that had blue laser lights in the back ground. Can anyone name the song or the band? I remember that may had a singer with a laser light in blue in the back ground. The light creted a visual plane and went up and down. May have been a women siging in this new wave video. Last saw it in the 80s. Thanks Tracy
