And one more thing - I just heard that Rob had to shell out some big moola to use Virgin's images of OMD. [xx(]

Has anyone received this yet? How long will it take to get to the USA after paying for it?

DVDs will be shipped on November 1. As to how long it will take - well, too long, no matter what! [:D]

Shipping has been delayed for several weeks due to what Andy calls an "accounting hiccup." Further updates as events warrant. (I don't believe Andy is personally involved in this but he is relaying information as Rob gives it to him.)

Damn! I was already preparing mentally for the DVD. I suggest they include a full concert DVD from the Tour of '81 as compensation for the delay.[:D]

The latest - some are receiving this communication (I did not, but it's been posted on the Official Forum):
"Unfortunately the dvd has not yet been sent out because I have encountered a last minute legal issue with regard to a very small sequence of pictures in the documentary, which we had previously believed to be fully cleared for use.

I have been working all week to get this resolved and I am confident that it will be cleared up some time next week and I can begin sending out the dvds.

In the unlikely event that I can’t resolve the issue by next Friday 16th November I will be refunding everyone’s money via PayPal from that date.

If you don’t want to wait any longer and would like an immediate refund please email me at [see <a href="http://www.omd-dvd.com/contact.php">Aspect's contact page</a>].
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff34/DreamRedux/mecry.gif" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

Stupid lawyers!!! [:(!]

Not just the lawyers...those idiots should have checked that beforehand[:(!], especially before letting people pay.

Andy McCluskey is assisting with this problem and posted this upbeat update:
This Documentary DVD is proving to be a classic... "anything worth doing.. is a pain in the backside".

As Rob has stated in the email he sent out.. there is last minute discussion about legal issues concerning a small section of the film.

I know it's very frustrating, but we have to be certain that this problem (which was flagged up only a few days ago) is properly resolved. We are working as fast as we can but we are waiting for others to reply..

Hang in there... It's still a great documentary.
But the lawyers are SUCH an easy target!

Latest word is that problems have been sorted, but the OMD Official Website seems to be encountering some technical problems at the moment so I can't confirm yet - but I will as soon as possible.

OK, Andy sez "all systems go," so I guess that means DVDs now being sent out.

I'm approaching "candle light vigil" mode myself, if that makes any sense . . .

Has nobody else received a copy so far?
Well, here's what I can say about mine: the DVD comes in a gatefold digipack. So far I've watched nearly 1 hour of roughly 80 minutes and the footage is largely Andy and Paul explaining the production of their early albums, joking about how little they knew and so on. Quite interesting and enjoyable. What I find strange is that the DVD does not have a menu, which I would expect from an official release, but then there are no extras whatsoever that would make a menu necessary...
Nevertheless, it was worth the money. All in all, a nice document.

Does it have chapter stops?

I haven't received mine, but I am in the USA.
