James: Getting Away With It...Live DVD

Just got my copy of James' live DVD from their farewell show (?) in Manchester, 2002. What a fantastic show by one of Manchester's best bands ever. Great sound, great production work. Tim Booth's energy and vocal work are amazing. Highly recommended for any fan. Anyone else seen it?

Yes, that's one of my favorite live DVDs. Great selection of songs, impeccable musicianship, a reunion of some old friends and they were really having a lot of fun. What a truly great band. There were even a few technical gaffes during the performance, and they humbly smiled their way through it. The only teeny issue is that Tim Booth looks so thin and emaciated that he appears a bit sickly-- of course you would never arrive at that conclusion from his trademark, high-energy performance.

I just got this about a week ago - it's quite good! (And Region 0 PAL, in case US readers are interested.) It has all of their videos plus commentary from the band on all tracks. There's also some TV appearances, although many of them are mimed. Still, some actual live stuff from Later With Jools Holland.

My thoughts exactly. Not sure if anything was up with Booth - maybe he's just super-fit. Lots of yoga or something. He sure had the energy and composure of someone with a clear mind.

Thanks, Crystal, for the heads-up on the new DVD - I'll pick it up for sure.
