Friendly board, lack of response is probably due to there not being much of anything available.

So what you're looking for is commercially available VHS copies of MTV Music Video Awards 1983 and such?

IRS had a compilation of "The Best Of The Cutting Edge" but no complete episodes.

Don't feel bad.
It's not easy to find vintage MTV, it takes years and I should know.
I don't bother looking for it now.
You can't buy or sell it on Epay or Gemm so yea it's a tough nut to crack.

MTV 'Hour1' Aug 1, 81. 1991 Rebroadcast with HUGE 'Hour1' logo in upper left. 1st gen mono copy. commercials were 'pause' edited out.

MTV hours 2, 3, 4. Inaugural Broadcast Aug 1 1981. Only VJ is Mark Goodman. Excellent picture quality & Stereo. very few commercials at that time. Unedited not a home recording.

Four hours of continuous MTV Nov 19, 81. Mark Goodman, Martha Quinn.

MTV New Years Eve Ball 81. Karla Devito, David Johanson, Bow Wow Wow. 145 min.

Official MTV Video Aircheck April 12, 1982 3PM to 4PM. Martha Quinn. Stereo 1 hour.

MTV 1st Birthday 8-1-82, 2 hrs with Commercials. JJ Jackson.
