Rocket To Stardom

Postby Ollie Stench » Tue Sep 23, 2008 3:48 am

In the early/mid 80's Night Flight showed a short film / music video called Rocket To Stardom. I taped it and wore the tape out re watching it on a daily basis. Then it got recorded over and I never saw it again.

I posted about it here years ago and got hipped to the director, Dan Halperin's, entry on IMBD. I contacted Dan and inquired about the film. He replied, saying no one had mentioned Rocket in 20 years and he was happily surprised that it was remembered.

He provided me with an ancient 3/4" tape which I was able to transfer to digibeta and DVD. Of course then I moved and the dvd got buried in a box. Well, last week I found the disc and ripped it to youtube with Mr. Halperin's blessing. It had to be broken into two parts but I don't think that detracts from it at all.

The band is called The Odd Numbers, and I had tracked down the bass player at one point but have since lost contact with him. The film also stars a very young Taylor Negron, whom I have never tried to contact.

Anyway, for your New Wave viewing pleasure I present one of my all-time fave raves: Rocket To Stardom
