Depeche Mode promo videos on dvd

Postby schwenko » Tue Sep 23, 2008 7:47 am

What's available? I have The Best of Volume 1, but that seems to have a very limited selection of early videos (pre-Violator).

Should a Volume 2 be expected with early videos included?

The only other one is "the Videos 86-98" (re-released as a two disc set).

Best bet for older videos is to find "Some Great Videos" on VHS or laserdisc.

"Best of" series is trash. They don't even put the older videos of the tracks that are on the CD.

I've been hoping for a Volume 2 with dvd also. They can include the rest of the videos they can didn't put on Volume 1 including the rarities, "See You", "Get The Balance Right", "The Meaning Of Love", and "Leave In Silence". You'd think when they put Volume 1 on there they are planning to release a number 2.

If they wanted to make the fans really happy, they should release another dvd with all the DM UK TV Appearances they can find.

Wow, that's awesome. They only performed songs from the 1st 2 albums right?

Unfortunately all bootleg copies of the concert I know of have subtitles in Danish or Finish.

There's not going to be a Vol. 2 of the videos as DM find their old videos rather poor and do not want to be reminded of their early sins[;)]

It can't get much worse than singing with a chicken/rooster in your arms, as shown on the A Broken Frame DVD.

I heard they give in to sin because they like to practice what they preach. OK, that was bad [8)]

afaik it was recorded for VHS release - at least it was mentioned in some of the old Depeche Mode Information Service newsletters. unfortunately that release never worked out as the band felt they had moved on by the time the material was ready + prefered to work on more recent stuff (they were well into recording Construction Tome Again at that point).
