first duranduran video on mtv

Postby miakitty » Mon Mar 22, 2004 6:53 am

hi. just wondering if anyone knew what the first duranduran video was on mtv and around what year they played it. I'm pretty sure it was either planet earth or the edited version of girls on film. i was wondering if either one of these videos made it onto mtv's playlist in 1981, or if they weren't played until 1982.
thanks to any and all responses.

I think I remember seeing Planet Earth before Girls On Film.

Hard to remember the exact timing, but I seem to remember the Girls on Film video generating quite a bit of controversy (which is never bad for a new band). Didn't they need to create a second, tamed-down version before MTV agreed to air it?

I don't recall what year either. But, I'm pretty sure it was "Planet Earth". Either late 1981 or 1982.
