To answer the question of where to get them, you can download add-ons for the Firefox and Chrome browsers that will allow you to save a copy of the videos that are on YouTube, and probably Daily Motion as well.

Not looking for YouTube versions (bad quality). I am looking for them to add to my Video DJ library.

Most of those I HAVEN'T found on YouTube anyways. People just post a pic of the album cover and the song for audio... useless to me.

laserdisc, VHS, RockAmerica, Telegenics, VH1, Old MTV, tons of equipement, good video editor, lots of money and time, buy research trade. Call all your friends and family and tell them you will be on vacation for two years.
lol, but I'm sure you already know all this Al. I'll start you out on the right track, to know if a video exists, meaning an actual video made at that time for promo. Check the following sources, if anybody has another, I'd like to here about it.

1. Did you check the video page here on NWO? I notice a few vids you mentioned on this site.
http://www.nwoutpost.com/videos.asp
2. a nice share site with many vids catagorized, but never complete.
http://www.mvdbase.com/
3. Wikipedia is another great source with vids often, not always listed under the bands discography, many links to other sources.
4. Rock America - database
http://www.rockamericamusic.com/database/search.php
5. Telegenics and other past services database.

Good luck,
Elvis

Thanks for the replies!

I actually have been collecting videos of all kinds for over 11 years now. I have plenty DVD's and other sources. I just wasn't able to find some of the tracks in the list right off the top of my head.

I am professional video DJ and audio/video remixer so I am no stranger to editing, and "fixing" old tracks to workable tracks for DJ-ing.

Like I said I am new to this forum so I will check that list you are talking about a little closer. But I would love to find the sources for most of these tracks not just see a list of them. I plan on buying a laserdisc player and looking everywhere on the web for old laserdiscs for rare content too.

Thanks guys!

Welcome Al,
Can always use another video junkie to bounce ideas and sources off of. Didn't mean to demeanor your abilities. Like you I often will put together a video for a track that never had a promo video. Often I like to use original material of that band in some shape or form. It's better to have the original promo vid, but first it's nice to know if it even exists. Once you know it exists, then to find the purest source to work with bringing it to life with your latest abilities.

Wow, what did they do to the clarity on that Icicle Works vid? It really looks awful compared to the RA version. Sound is great.
Elvis
Guess it's not that bad, but definite quality loss, must have sat in their archives too long.

Elvis,
Usually I'm not happy with the clarity of PO videos, although they really have great sound.
Which of course is more important than the video in a night club.
Please upload your RA version, I'd like to compare.

Yes, Eighties, it has great sound the promo.
RA sound tends to have higher highs which sometimes plays better depending on the system. I like a copy of both.

If I was going to play a Flying Lizard vid, instead of Money which I have, I would play:
Dizzy Miss Lizzie or Sex Machine
have these:
Bolshoi - Away
Dr. Calculus - Kiss Me
Edelweiss - Bring Me Edelweiss
Icicle Works - Whisper To A Scream (Birds Fly)
Peter Murphy - Cuts You Up
Red Flag - Russian Radio
Romeo Void - Never Say Never
Visage - Fade To Grey
Sinead O'Connor - I Want Your Hands On Me
The Timelords - Doctorin' The Tardis
Total Coelo - I Eat Cannibals
Visage - Fade To Grey
Ultravox - Reap The Wild Wind

a few on their, I know never had a promo vid done.

This a new genre for ya, Al? What's your specialty? Genre wise?

I grabbed this video off the internet, but replaced the audio track.
This is the best copy I could find.
