Sounds like a cross between Spandau Ballet, Japan, and someone falling down the stairs. Any clues?

It's Strange Arrangement with Don't Run Away From Here.

I'll check my HDD at home tonight and post it later.

So I checked my database tonight and can't find the song.
So hopefully you have a complete copy and would like to share it with us.

I knew the track because it was mentioned on the David Sylvian website and was featured on a compilation record years ago.

Hi,

I'm the one who sent the clip. I had the song on tape, but could not for the life of me figure out who it was. My first guess was China Crisis, but I have all of their material (I think).

If this is David Sylvian do we know the song title or album?

Just emailed the clip to the "Nightporter" site which lists the entire Japan discography. The response back was that the song is "not" from Japan. They did note that the style was close. Back to square 1!

Phoenix, i already sent you the answer a few posts ago (03-03-2006 at 09:57:21).

It's "Strange Arrangement" and the track is called "Don't Run Away From Here".

The track was mentioned on the old David Sylvian website, can't remember why. Maybe he produced it or one of the other Japan members was involved. The bass sounds a bit Karnish.

So trackname and group are known, and it is definively no Sylvian or Japan track. All I would like is to have a MP3 version of the song.

Looks like it appeared on a compilation called "Modern Heroes" circa 1982.

http://www.discogs.com/release/335849

As you can see, it appeared alongside Japan, Sylvian, and Karn singles, which is why it would have been mentioned on the old Sylvian site.

Weird, I just picked up that compilation a couple days ago. I'll rip it when I get a chance and post it if it's still unavailable.

Does anyone have this track? "Don't Run Away From Here" by Strange Arrangement? Their single from 1984 "Into the Light" is on iTunes, but this track is nowhere to be found. I LOBE "Into the Light" and the b-side "Shoot Them Down." According to their Facebook they've reunited and play shows, but have any of their early recordings been rereleased besides "Into the Light?" Were there more? I'm so curious about these guys. I love em. They sound like Duran Duran meets Scary Thieves (who essentially sound like Duran Duran) Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

Hey D500!!

Arrrgh, I used to own this record and sold it before I transferred it digitally ( we were moving and my wife insisted all vinyl get sold!). I actually drove down to the local record store where I sold it, but it was gone. I did check online though, and there are a couple copies for only $4 each on Gemm:

If I had a way of transferring it digitally, I'd buy it; however, my turntable died a few years back and with all my vinyl sold, there's no point in me buying vinyl any longer. I don't even remember how the track sounded. :(

If you do come across it, I'd love to hear it too!
