On the "Dockers" commercial!

On the "Dockers" commercial!

Postby newdawnfades » Mon Sep 08, 2003 1:02 pm

Have you heard the song that plays in the "Dockers" commercial? I think the band was "Wire," but I'm not sure, and the song is "Go," right? Can anyone help? And why are all these new commercials (a few months ago they used Alphaville's "Forever young" in a car commercial) using 80s music??? It drives me nuts!

I think the reason advertisers use music from 20 years ago, is because the people that make money and buy those items also listened to that music.

I haven't seen the commercial, but if the main lyric in the music is "Go" then odds are it's Tones on Tail and not Wire....

It was disappointing to hear Blondie's "One way or another" for a car commercial.

Tones on Tail's "Go!" was used in another commercial about 5 years ago IIRC.

Tones on tail! That's it! Thanks everyone. I think Wire did that song that had the lyrics "I remember, I remember ..." Got confused between the two.

Definately Tones on Tail. It's the only commercial that I actually turn UP instead of mute.

I have been searching for this song for literally 20 years - Chuck Kedney played it for me driving home one night and I haven't forgotten the beat - Schweeeeet! It's on the Party Monster soundtrack I guess. Maybe that's why the newfound popularity!

Yipppeeeee! I've heard this song dozens of times at Ground Zero (Mpls, Mn) on 80's night, have looooooved the energy of this tune, but had never discovered the title or artist. No joke, I WILL sleep better tonight. [:)]

I think that you were thinking of Wiretrain, not Wire, when confused with Tones On Tail. Wiretrain sang "Chamber of Hellos". They are an LA band.
