why do they missidentify?

why do they missidentify?

How come files on peer-to-peer networks often miss-identify the performers of a song?

I can see how someone might mistake Spandau Ballet's "True" as Tears for Fears (as if they don't have the album in their hand?) But why am I looking at a copy of Funky Town labled "Pseudo Echo?

Do they get points for downloads?

The reason songs get mislabeled is that alot of people aren't as savy and just guess at titles/artists.

One of the main reasons I don't use Kazaa or soulseek. Too much mislabeling.

However there was a small contingent of people who would set "Napst
