New Wave Cover of "Strangers in the Night"

New Wave Cover of "Strangers in the Night"

Postby Glen » Wed Mar 03, 2004 3:38 am

I saw a video for this once and it was a great cover of Sinatra's "Strangers in the Night" (didn't he do it originally??? I'm giving him credit in case his mob friends are reading this, so they won't cap me). Anyway, anyone know who did this. It was rather fast-paced and synth-heavy, if I recall clearly.

I'm sure that was Peter Baumann from around 1983. The video was pretty bizarre and it had a very Numan sound to it.

It was Peter Baumann.

Went simply by Baumann for this release.

It was from 1983 on Portrait / CBS.

I don't believe the 12" long version has ever made it to CD.

Sinatra did this in 1966.

I have an Aussie compilation CD here titled "The New Romantics" that includes a cover of "Strangers in The Night" from 1983 by guy called "Ricci".

Sounds similar to what has been mentioned.
