Pere Ubu - Modern Dance
What are they saying repeatedly in the background (it's not mentioned in the lyrics sheet). Sounds kinda like "mad rock, mad rock" or, possibly, "merde, merde" (French for s**t)??? Anybody know? Thanks.

One good answer deserves another. You may already have found this out, but here is part of your answer from the Net:
Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry, translated as King Turd, opens with the line "Merdre!" (translated as "Shitter!") and is filled with scatolog
