Yeah, number two doesn't sound like "Soft Core" since the opening of Soft Core has a driving synth beat and some French lady talking.
As far as the piano, I can't place it. However, Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine had a great version of "This Is How It Feels" that started with simple sampled violin riff with some talking over it before the punk part of the song really busted-out.
Sound possible? That's my best guess for now.
