Not yet. There was a band called First Affair who had a song called Stay in 1986 though. Anyone know anything about them?

Nope, it's not First Affair. It's also titled Stay (don't hide away), but it's a really nice song. I really hope this one get solved, i have listening to the sample like 100 times or something :)

This is the First Affair track (thanks, wozgo!)

http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?a ... 1553F035BF

In case anybody else needs a refresher course, it is also not...

"Stay" by Ian Lodge (I have this record - it's pretty bad)

"Stay" by Marx and Spencer (a demi-cover of Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs' "Stay" - I posted an mp3 of that here a month or two ago)

"Stay" by Modern Vision (sorry)

"Stay" by Romance at Eleven (I believe eight6 ruled this out)

"Stay" by Dan Byrd (a friend emailed some seller offering this and the seller confirmed it isn't it)

But, look on the bright side, there's still a lot of "Stay" records left for us to explore.

It is also not:

"Second Time Around" - Cham CM

"Second Time Around" - Lost Patrol

And I think we've ruled out:

"Second Time Around" - Dagaband

How about?

"Second Time Around" - Ken Roland

What you can't picture that guy belting out, "my heart goes boom boom boom...?"

I also just learned that it's not the French band Black Rose's 45 -"Stay"

Well as long as we're ruling bands out, it's also not Curious Figures: Please Stay (Boston synthpop/new wave band circa 1986). It was a dollar bin purchase that I thought had potential (right era, right genre, right name... just wrong song).

Theres a song by a band called Tor from 1986 called Stay. I ordered the 45 cuz it was cheap. It looks like theres a guy named Tor who released rockabilly albums in the 90s but I dont think its the same person/band!

Hi everyone,
I followed this post for a while now because I'm iterested in this track, too..Can anyone confirm that the track was recorded on German Radio Station Hessen3 or NDR1 in the mid 80s? Because if so, I might be able to help as I work in a Media Research Agency and we have Hessen 3 as well as the NDR Stations as a client. Maybe some of the older Staff there remembers the song...

Thats what we need! Ive tried to find old djs from those stations through the internet but I couldnt do it. It was most definitely recorded off one of those two according to the guy who first posted on his own site.
