I think this has been going on for 3 or 4 years now...it's just less painful if you don't think about it.

How funny. That's why I never listened to the clip because the chances of me knowing it are next to zero and I didn't want that haunting me forever. I gave in and downloaded it today!

It would be even funnier if you knew who did the song.

I was under the impression this was solved already. Isn't it Manteca "Stay"? It's on Best of Ready Records, Vol. 2.

Have you listened to Manteca's "Stay"?
It sounds NOTHING like the mystery clip!

I was going to say if Manteca did that it was quite the departure musically.

For me, it has to do with the fact that 4 years on, it has yet to be identified. It's more the myth of the song than the song itself.

Assuming one day this actually gets solved can you imagine the disappointment we're in store for? Once upon a time KROQ had some sort of "Demo Listen" type show and they'd play music from cassettes of unsigned artists who sent their music to the station. I used to tape this show and never really got much into any of the demos but some of them did go on to be KROQ staples (don't ask me which ones, this is a LONG time ago and my tapes are long gone). My point is - after all this time the fact that NO ONE knows who this is leads me to believe it's some demo that someone made for a friend that showed up on some mix tape somewhere.

Seriously - if we can solve "Girl Waiting" (or "Boy Waiting") this one should, in theory, be cake by comparison.

My 2 cents.

Actually, I never listened to the mystery clip...I just thought I read somewhere that someone solved it. Never mind.
