That's an excellent idea. Anyone know how to get in touch with Coldplay?

[:D] Heh, that might not be enough to bring someone out of the woodwork. Now, Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber...

I received the following comment on the song from a person called Terascon on youtube:

So I went to Google translation http://translate.google.com and here is what the message translates as:
"A friend and professional musician (composer and recording studio owner) said that the opening could be because of certain deficiencies not a normal production, and it would act may be an early marketing of the German new wave group "Camouflage". These ranged in fact in 1986 the song contest of a German radio station a demo tape and won the first prize. It is probably looking at this song demo recording, whose title I do not know exist."

There's no way this is Camouflage, it sounds nothing like them.

Awwww. GT strikes again.

Let me translate this into proper English:

"A fellow professional musician (both composer and recording studio boss) told me that because of certain characteristic "shortcomings", this could in no way be an ordinary (final) production, and in fact be an early recording by the German new wave band "Camouflage" [1], winner of a competition presented by a German radio station with their song contribution from one of their demo tapes.
Most probably the song the whole world has been hunting for all those years *IS* exactly this contributed song on their demo tape, whose title is not known to me to this day, though."

[1][known for "The Great Commandment", 1987, and "Love Is A Shield"]

Sent the band an email with a link to the song...I am working on a show that will air July 26th, with Peter Godwin who worked with them on "Love is a Shield". When Peter returns from filming his new video "Chocolate", I'll send him the clip as well.

I registered a few weeks ago but it seems impossible to listen to the song. It seems like it might actually be a request for the song (there is an upload link, but not a download link), and not actually the song, but I could be wrong. I sent a message and the youtube link to the person who posted it asking for their help but haven't gotten a response.

This is just a thought..
With all the digitized music content presently out there in cyberspace, would it be possible to use some audio analysis algorythm/app along the lines of what Pandora/ iTunes uses to find a possible matching vocal/synth pattern/profile to an existing recording artist? Perhaps someone with ties to those services would like to take this on as a pet project? Even someone with ties to the field of Audio Forensics might help. http://www.audioforensics.com/index.htm
