Just wanted to say thank you to all the people still trying to solve the mystery of "Stay (The Second Time Around)" and hope that it will be figured out in the near future... my fingers are crossed (which makes typing tough :-)

Maybe we need to impose on Ecki Stieg of Radio FFN in Germany again. After all, he did solve the Eskimos & Egypt song a couple of years ago, and the was at least as long a search as this one. I would guess that Rene would have probably asked Ecki, but he didn't remember Screams and Whispers (what a great song!!) right away. It only hit him after he looked at some old playlists one day.

Anyone know how to reach Ecki?

*edit* I was able to locate an e-mail address for Ecki and have forwarded the clip to him. Hopefully, he receives the e-mail...apparently his radio FFN show was recently cancelled.

Well, Ecki is the newest member of the "Who does that damn song" club. He doesn't know the group/title. I'm impressed with how quickly he got back to me though.

The search continues....

More from the Belgian Modern Vision band member. They were the only band in Belgium under that name from 1984 -1987. They recorded the "Folly" album on Touch records. Had a few singles, all of which are on Gemm now. They are the same Modern Vision listed on the gig list of the Poesie Noir site. They broke up in 1987 and then became Lonely in the Crowd and finally, today, a rock cover band called, The Crowd. He doesn't know who sang "Stay."

Thats funny because I kept seeing a Belgian rock websiet with a listing of The Crowd that said (formerly Modern Vision) but I didnt htink it would be the same band.

Hi all,
This mystery is fascinating! I stumbled upon it by accident and like many others, got caught up in it, caused my to register to post this.

I was wondering if anyone has sent this to any of the mp3 blogs that specialize in 80's type music like this. Some of them get decent traffic and maybe some new ears exposed to this might help?
I was thinking of ones such as http://siart.blogspot.com/ , (Silence is a rhythm too) or http://lostinthe80s.blogspot.com/ . (lost in the 80's)?

Just a thought

Not Ruled out (Yet)

Jet (eighties band, not the current hipsters)
Cheating Ace (1985)

OK, I ordered the Jet lp titled Second Time Around from the vendor who had it on GEMM. Based on his rating, I may not ever see the lp, but if it does come, we can cross it off the list, or rejoice. (That is, if I decide to tell the rest of you!) You can never have enough frisbees.[:D]

So, I emailed the guy who's running the Belgian Rock and Pop website. He didn't know the song. Have a few more leads to run down.

In the meantime:

Found a scan of that Dagaband 7" and it really doesn't look like the band.

Found something else, it's The Dream Team's "Second Time Around". It's from 1986 or 1987. But I think it's an early hip hop group.

(( sorry if the links don't come up. I don't know how to do that.)))

I'm pretty sure somebody else went down this road...they are a NWOBHM band if memory serves.
