A long shot, just a memory of lyrics after twenty years. And in texture and sound, it reminded me a bit of Life in a Northern Town.
"When you say stop the rain/
Don't you means stop the pain."
Not the first to rhyme rain with pain, I'm sure.

Oh my God, crichert, you got it! I've been Googling that couplet every five years with no luck. I can't believe this worked. I thought I was dead in the water without an audio clip.

Awesome!! So happy to help! If you get a chance, I recommend picking up a copy of the used CD, the whole album is great! I remember "Still Beating" had some airplay when it first came out.
