sound effect / sample origin ?

Hi guys,
Can anyone identify the sound effect or sample used below during the first 7 seconds of 'Lena' by 2 Belgen or by Jan Hammer during an episode of Miami Vice at around 1:17.

It was a common sound on the Fairlight sampler from the 80s. Everyone from Keith Emerson to Peter Gabriel had one or access to one. Other notables: Jan Hammer, Thomas Dolby, Herbie Hancock, Art of Noise, Ryuichi Sakamoto...
It was only 8-bit (later higher) but it was over $40k. :shock:

I probably have a version of that sound in my Fairlight banks on my old Emax II sampler.

Some of the Fairlight library was released a few years ago for the Kontakt VST sampler:
