Who can identify this 80s song?

Who can identify this 80s song?

I found this cool song on a mixtape I had done back in 1987 or so. I have been trying hard to remember who it is as the singer sounds very familiar. It's really a good song with nice synth lines. If you have a good quality of it to share, it will be just fantastic or if you know who it is, I will try to find a copy.

Very nice, I agree.
But I don't know it, I'm afraid... [:I]

I don't know the song but the voice and band sound very familiar. I thought for a minute it might be the Comsat Angels but I'm sure it's not.

I'm guessing the song is called "Picture Window"

Thanks for checking gnj1958. It's driving me crazy as it seriously sounds so familiar.

Sounds a little like the Teardrop Explodes, but I don't think it's them.
Probably more obscure.

Definitely not. It's probably a band a handful of people knew at the time.

My MusicID id'd songtitle as "Picture Window - This Fear" from a album called "K-97 Homegrown Class of 88"
It seems to be the 1988 edition of a compilation serie sponsored by the canadian radio station K-97 from Edmonton, Alberta. It supported local unsigned artists.
Sadly the tool gave me no information about the artist except "Various Artists"
Edit: The given songtitle is partly wrong. The second part behind the hyphen refers most likely to the artist name. Here another song by "This Fear" with very similar style and lead voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmGd34Tg4Fo

Thank you guys! How did I miss Parker-Jervis's distinctive voice is beyond me! I know someone close to This Fear's bass player, Brian. I'd see if he's got a better copy of it. Thanks again!

It's the same band as in youtube. They released a very cool mini lp in 1985 called "Darkness Shapes Imagination". Check this one out:

They clearly embraced the Big Hair 80's.

Good song, deserved a better distribution.
