This is to a short snippet from a song that remains Unidentified. I figure one of you New Wave Experts with a massive Vinyl collection might be able to help. This intro is really awsome! (IMHO)

Boy, that IS a short sample ... I can't quite get a sense of the melody. I think you can definitely pin it down to '85-87, based on the style.

I know. I didnt sample the Mp3. They guy who had it posted it couldnt record a longer sample for some weird reason. I gave you guys the link, for I know my fellow new wavers can help me with this one (even though nobody identified my last sample).

This is so strange.
I got an idea from the guy who posted it. play it backwards. So I got myself some cheap free recording software, passed it through an amp and generated a WAV of it backwards....

It sounds totally different, and VERY creepy

I checked out a sample on the net. The clip does indeed sound ALOT like the song. Do you happen to have the full song? (I dont care if its low quality).

Its off of their Numbers With Wings Ep from 1983 and has been issued on CD.

Definitely not "Numbers with Wings" even though the bassline sounds about right ... those keyboards are definitely from a few years later (like I said: '85-'87).

Donna, methinks your username is a reference to the Blancmange song "22339" ... is this co

Wow ... then that's got to be a pretty drastic remix since those keyboards don't exist anywhere in the original. Must be a very "clubbed-up" version, since the original is such a beautiful, atmospheric piece.
