The Golden Hour of the Future

The Golden Hour of the Future

from BlindYouth.com

In case you hadn't heard, a remastered edition of "The Golden Hour Of
The Future" is due out on September 8th, again via Black Melody.

As well as being back out on CD, it'll be available through the usual
digital outlets online, and the sound quality should be *slightly*
better this time.

There'll be updates posted on this MySpace page:

And Martyn Ware will be heard discussing the recordings in a podcast
on http://blackmelody. com sometime soon...

Very awesome. We should all Dance Like A Star at this news. [8D]

Always a trip to hear how close they were to Kraftwerk early on in their careers. It's easy to knock their progeny's output post-Dare, but it's doubtful they would have reached much of an audience if they'd kept to their more esoteric early work. I just wish they'd done more Dare-like stuff, though I'm sure others might say the same about Travelogue instread. In any case, I guess it's hard to maintain a perfect equilibrium of style without either tipping too commercial or disappearing into oblivion.

I have no issues with the sound quality of the first version, considering they sourced it all from 30 year old cassette and 1/4" reel to reel tapes.

"A few extra details from Richard X, the man behind the compilation. ..

The original accompanying 12" EP, "Dance Like A Star", will also get a
limited re-press, and will also be available as digital downloads.

There's also a possibility of more unreleased recordings coming out,
but nothing's definite yet. There are still plenty of early gems in
the vaults, so let's hope so! :)"
