The Adventures "Theodore And Friends"

Postby moni » Tue Jun 30, 2009 12:17 am

Released 20/07/2009. The Adventures were a rock band formed in Belfast in the1980s who moved to London where they had hits in the UK Singles Chart during the 1980s. Released back in 1985,'Theodore and Friends' is a rock album that proves The Adventures were one of the most underrated bands around at that time. The First single from the album Another Silent Day failed to chart, but it was followed later in 1984 by the superb Send My Heart - a top quality 80's single which made it into the UK top 40. This was then followed up by the Hit single Feel The Raindrops that was a massive radio and chart hit.

This timely reissue contains the original UK album re-mastered and also contains selected rare bonus tracks, which have never been on CD before. The booklet with an exclusive interview with guitarist contains rare memorabilia as well. Much sought after release on CD New sleeve-notes by Classic Rock s Malcolm Dome with original member Pat Cribben. Contains the top 20 hit Feel The Raindrops.

Always / Feel The Raindrops / Send My Heart / Two Rivers / Don't Tell Me / Another Silent Day / When The World Turns Upside Down / Love In Chains / Lost In Hollywood / These Children / Bonus Tracks- Another Silent Day Extended Remix / Feel The Raindrops Extended Remix / Happy Depression B-Side / Life During Wartime Live / Nowhere Near Me B-Side / Send My Heart Extended Remix / These Children Live / Tristesse En Vitesse B-Side

Who wrote this crap? Everything here is wrong.

Another Silent Day - #71
Send My Heart - #62
Feel the Raindrops - #58

Their only U.K. Top 20 -- and U.S. Hot 100 -- hit was "Broken Land." (U.K. #20, U.S. #95)

<br>if it's Cherry Red, they'll probably source a copy of the existing CD and take the bonus tracks from vinyl - the missing 12" mix is probably left off from time restraints. still, if it makes an otherwise expensive CD affordable again for people who don't have big incomes or inherit property/legacies, then it's a good thing.

Dave, as a matter of fact a CD of all 12" and long versions was issued a while back, which I have a copy of. Probably this is the source. I have got "Theodore And Friends" CD as well but again I am very excited to see Cherry Red is re-issuing it as this underrated record deserved a come back.

I would have taken the two live tracks out and stuck in the extended version of "Two Rivers" and the other version of "Send My Heart".

Oh, of course. I would have done the same exact thing. The US extended version is far superior to the UK mix in my opinion.

All , I ordered my copy from cherry red and got the CD on Thursday , well impressed an surprised, I played it once in the car and the remaster sounds very good to my ears (not an expert). Booklet is ok but looks quite cheap. If you have the vinyl album the cover was very light and this is extremely dark. However this is only a minor nitpick , it is so good that this album is out again

Got mines today and i have to say the sound is top notch, Could have done with a couple of more remixes on it instead of those live tracks. It always baffled me why this album was ignored at the time.

Pretty cool picture of the band on the back of the cd. This wasn't on the original release.
