U2's 'The Unforgettable Fire' reissue in October

Bit nervous to pay the big dollars on this one, since The Joshua Tree Deluxe CD/DVD box now goes for GBP 7.98 on Amazon UK (still US$53.99 at Amazon US), this is a massive price drop, and quite a bargain if you haven't grabbed it yet.

The prices for these are absolutely shocking. The super deluxe version with the DVD is £32 and the deluxe version 2 Cd's is £18. I think i will hold of till they go down in price and as crockett mentioned The Joshua Tree box is now down to £8. I noticed there is a single CD release as well for £5 why would anybody want to buy that without the extra disc bit pointless really.

the sound and packaging are both superb. the book is quite nice. the bonus cd of b-sides & rarities is fantastic (not only is the dub mix of wire included, but an unreleased mix of both it & a sort of homecoming, plus 2 great previously unreleased tunes & the non-album cuts & mixes from the singles). the dvd's mostly a rehash of stuff already available. unless you're a u2 junkie like me but are a fan of this album, you probably only need the 2 cd version (plus it's only $24 USD vs. $40 on amazon).

Best Buy has the two cd version for $19.99 on sale. I sprung for the full box at $39.99. U2 fans will love this...it's great to finally have the video for Unforgettable Fire on DVD, let alone the other goodies.

I also echo the statement above regarding the bonus cd. It's got all the b-sides, including the long version of 11 O'clock Tick Tock that was on one of the original 12" singles for Pride. And Yoshino Blossom is a cool song. While Disappearing Act doesn't knock me out, the instrumental backing tracks sound like a really skeletal early version of Magnificent, oddly enough. Probably just coincidence, but who knows.
