If you like the album version, you'll like the 12" version. It's pretty much the same, but is longer.

please tell me that track list is a joke. i think some of those songs have even appeared on OTHER volumes of this series. Don't Go? Hard Times? Kiss Me?? RELAX??? There isn't a single track on there that is anything we haven't seen before, except maybe some of the street beat cuts on disc 2.

Well there's 2 differing views! Mind you these 12"/80s listings are always changing when the album sees the light of day!I don't think any of these tracks have been on any previous albums? Def not Relax ...have had a look on discogs etc...Some may be different mixes I guess Tin Tin, Yazoo etc. Actually Love Action was but that was the instrumental version - this looks like could be the original 12" version Hard Times/Love Action...

Hard Times and Love Action are two completely different songs. There is no extended version of Love Action just the album version and a single edit and the instrumental and what's the betting they have just took the Hard Times/Love Action from Love & Dancing. What a crap compilation i don't mean the songs what i do mean is that the vast majority of these songs have appeared on other compilations.Disc 2 looks total pants mind u.

Actually, the 12" mix is a totally different and vastly superior (IMHO) recording than the 5:50 version found on the original CD release of 'Mange Tout'. The 12" mix has re-recorded vocals and a much richer instrumental. For some reason, the 4:25 single edit of the 12" mix was included on the 2008 remastered re-issue rather than the original album version. This edit was also included on 'Second Helpings - The Best of Blancmange".

They're on Universal.

Speaking of TFF, what's the difference between Mad World, World Remixed Version, and every other version?

And regarding Blancmange, nevermind about the various mixes in different countries; what about a couple of the mixes on the remastered CDs that seem to be "new" (unreleased)?
[/quote]

I wish Universal would release a 2-CD Deluxe Edition of 'The Hurting' like they did for SFTBC. They could include the remix and instrumental of 'Suffer The Children' off the 12", along with all the unreleased single versions from the 12" releases, Change (New Version), Saxophones as Opiates, and the original 1982 extended version of 'Pale Shelter (You Don't Give Me Love)' produced by Mike Howlett (IDEA 212) which has been overlooked on the many CD remasters and compilations.

Yes you are right they do but as i said there is no original 12 inch mix of Love Action. The only proper extended version from Dare was the complete version of Sound Of The Crowd the rest were all instrumentals which are on Love & Dancing. What would have been better was if they had included Open Your Heart / Non-Stop which hasn't appeared on CD before.

They gave that deluxe edition treatment to the likes of Level 42 , Inxs , Deacon Blue, ABC and more but never bothered with any of their other albums. Would love to get what you suggested there Juan but i honestly can't see it happening in saying that they seem to be giving Def Leppards full back catalogue the deluxe treatment so who knows.

Yes, the 'theme' this time is "Electro: Pop", to cash in on the popularity of La Roux etc. It's due out on 31st August.

The FGTH mix is apparently the 'New York' mix (featured in a tv ad for Virgin Atlantic), but I don't think the rest of the tracklisting is finalised yet, except for the inclusion of 'Don't Stop The Rock' because it featured in a high profile advert for Cadburys chocolate.
