The Paul Young Remixes cds were excellent in track selection and sound quality. Possibly the best yet. Better grab a copy before they start fetching obscene prices.

I think this one is just an overdue collection of 12″ mixes and some b-sides, which is confusing me. This is no real rarities collection because I already have 95% of the stuff, so why bother naming it like that?

Besides, most of the extended remixes are featured on the Edsel 2CD reissues. I don’t see a single track on this compilation that would even get me considering buying it. Yet another wasted opportunity.

I think this is Cherry Red's way of competing with Edsel. They're like " you screwed up the TT remasters , we won't !" I must say that I wasn't too impressed with the Edsel cds in terms of sound quality. The Into The Gap stuff was screwed up and the replacement discs were CDrs and still weren't ok. Plus having Tom Bailey reviving TT stuff it's a perfect opportunity for another collection .

it isn't targeted at the hardcore thompson twins collector like you.

for other people, this is just fine, as we don't have all those unreleased tracks.

buying supports further releases. maybe with more rare tracks.

Well I will probably buy it too-- but I might add as a just a reminder that a lot of people complained about loudness problems with the Cherry Red Naked Eyes remasters. I was not one of them-- I thought they sounded fine but many did not like. I have the Edsel TT's all but the A product of/Set -- which I did not buy as I still have on vinyl, and that was the one that had way too many complaints-- so i took everyones advice and steered clear of that one.

Anyone feeling inspired or has the material to make a single 72 min CD compilation of that material listed above that was never put on CD. I have the Come inside double vinyl to start.

Tom has signed them and costs $20

In the liner notes Compiled and collated with the support and involvement of Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey. There is a forward by Tom.
Also Six tracks appear on CD for the first time, including sought-after early B-side ‘In The Beginning’, the 7” version of US single ‘The Gap’ and the US Remix of ‘Lay Your Hands On Me’.
And they are Remastered from the original tapes.

Now I don't go checking the sound waves...but it sounds great. So far I hear no glitches...except once in a while it sounds like the car behind me honking the horn, must be because I've got it jacked up past 11

Now what I should have purchased was the Howard Jones Box Sets! He really has his show swag together! All signed.

Yes, signed copies by Tom were available at some of the Retro Futura shows. Unfortunately for me, the compilation was sold out by the time I saw the show in Chicago at the Ravinia Festival on August 27th.

However, there is still the opportunity to purchase signed copies through Tom's website and webshop.

I should have paid more attention to the box sets being sold, as they are the Tour Editions that came out in 2010. I purchased the Human's Lib/Dream into Action...and for some reason, I thought they were the double disc versions. Not the case, as they are the single disc versions. Oh well. Live and learn.

Just saw Tom Bailey along with HoJo at The Mezzanine San Francisco. Great show!! Howard opened the set playing through his hits to an ecstatic crowd. But the real surprise and loudest cheers were reserved for Mr. Bailey. Also purchased the TT remixes 2cd set for $20 at the show. Listening to it now. It's excellent in sound quality. Well done Cherry Red and Paul Sinclair for compiling and interviewing Tom.
