Anyone care to post some wave graphs? I want to know if the disc is compressed or not before I order it. It would very much be appreciated

well ... the newly remastered edition ( fyi : i'm NOT going to debate this term here again ! ) is definitely the best sounding one of all the editions that were released on cd & it also has the following bonus trax on it :

13. Telegraph (The Manor Version)
14. 4 Neu
15. Genetic engineering (312 mm Version)
16. 66 And fading
17. Telegraph (Extended Version)
18. Swiss radio international

if that's not enough to shell out a few bucks , i don't know , what will be then !

Like any recent remaster, it's definitely been compressed to some degree but I didn't find it "hot" or distorted in any jarring kind of way like a lot of other reissues.

It's an outstanding review. As a matter of fact, it's so good that Andy says:

I haven't bought a new CD in quite some time but I spent $14.99 to get this one. I am very happy with it. The remastered sound is exquisite.

The only thing that irritated me about it was the liner notes. For the most part they were interesting but I already knew most of what they discussed such as the bad critical reviews, the surprising change of direction, etc. I would like to know the stories behind the bonus tracks.

I know "Telegraph (Extended Version)" was the maxi single because I have it. But other examples: why didn't OMD put "Genetic Engineering 312mm version" on the original album. Is this an extended version from a 12 inch? Was the Manor version of "Telegraph" the one they recorded and chucked out during the "Architecture and Morality" sessions or is it more of a demo? Why didn't they put "Swiss Radio International" on the original album. Did they already have enough shortwave radio broadcasts on the album? Things like that.

Otherwise, a great listen and worth the money.

the so-called "312mm version" is the extended version & so they didn't put it on the original album , but on the 12" instead ! [;)]

yes , it's that ( original ) version !

simply because they haven't got the permission to use it !
now that "swiss radio international" ( the radio station ) no longer exists they can use it ! [:)]

cheers ! [8D]

Finally got my Dazzle Ships remaster, and it was worth the wait, what a fantastic disc, from top to bottom. I'm very happy I picked it up.
