Oh, great. Can anyone provide a screen grab of a waveform? I have my copy of the set coming, and will not even open it if it's truly as bad as the reviewer, and commenters of the review, state.

For some reason amazon.co.uk charged me just 5.94 pounds for "Journey" (but 9.34 for "Diamond"), although I see the price is back up. Many tracks are unlistenable. Yep, that familar tinny, compressed, harsh "modern" remaster sound. Some tracks sound better than others, but I will stick with my old CD whenever I listen to this.

Haven't checked "Diamond" yet.

So far I had listened to them only in my car. Yesterday I took them at my home and I must admit that I don't like the sound too much: thin and harsh remasters. But to my ears Diamond sounds better than Journeys. [:(]

'Fraid to say, I have to concur with the comments thus far - it's a stinker ('Journeys To Glory' at least) - keep the shrinkwrap on, Rubellan and get set for a trip to the nearest post box to return to sender - for 'JTC' anyway. The opening 'To Cut A Long Story Short' is positively painful to endure. Things are better with 'Reformation', but by 'Mandolin' its obvious this is a pretty flawed effort. I have made some screen shots of the first couple of minutes of two of the tracks;

<img src="http://www.fivetenfifteen.com/sb-mandolin-2010.gif" alt="Screenshot of Mandolin 2010 remaster" border="0">

<img src="http://www.fivetenfifteen.com/sb-to-cut-a-long-story-short-2010.gif" alt="Screenshot of Mandolin 2010 remaster" border="0">

As you can see, compressed to death. Unpleasant.

The shoddiness doesn't end there, with a rather embarrassing typo in Robert Elms text - what should be 'sublime' becomes 'sublie' courtesy of the cackhanded designer responsible. Might be a small point, but gives a flavour of the slipshod nature of this effort. Dear oh dear...

LOl,What is new wave then ?? I've heard Spandau's music being classified as everything from new romantic,synthpop,pop,post punk,alternative to even rock. I thought "new wave" was a combination of different genres or styles.
