<br>Sorry
but where does SAW, Dead or Alive, Pseudo Echo, Giorgio Morodor with or without Phil Oakley or Limahl, Stacey Q, Pat benatar, Furniture, Rick Astley and Donna fucking Summer gotta do with fucking Nu Wave.........
Does an American actually get the concept of Nu Wave, sorry us over here were into Flying Lizards (at the time) etc, what were the Americans listening to, oh prb Boston, Foreigner, Fleetwood Mac. You can have the Cars and J Geils Band, but please......Rick Fucking Astley
Not having a go at Yanks, some know their stuff.....
Jesus, just cos Mick Chapman did Blondie does that mean I can include Middle of The Road, The Sweet, Mud etc as Nu Wave, just cos he produced Blondie, doesn't mean he's Nu Wave, it's like saying Electric dreams by Morodor (shit that it is) is disco cos he produced alot of disco.
So I'm assuming, and correct me if i'm wrong, SAW did Dead or Alive, so that means we can deduce Kylie, Jason Donovan, Sinitta and the rest of the fucking output is nu wave, cos if you include Rick Astley include the rest......
Stick it here

or go to some SAW fan site to post the drivel, or some other poppy 80's shit......Nu wave is well.....Lok it up (try England, Where it STARTED)

And if there are any doubts, read Simon Reynolds' brilliant RIP IT UP AND START AGAIN or any of the first three volumes of the excellent TROUSER PRESS RECORD GUIDES to get the sense of what was or wasn't New Wave (New Pop in the UK)...PUNK...POST-PUNK...NEW POP (Post-Punk & New Pop collectively know as the NEW WAVE in the UK & Europe), AKA the time period circa 1978-1984 give or take depending on what region you live in.
There are many acts that don't even get a mention here who were vital parts of the scene (Pere Ubu, Clock DVA, The Pop Group, A Certain Ratio, the Factory stable, the Rough Trade stable, Cabaret Voltaire, etc, etc, etc) These boards totally gloss over the whole Post-Punk scene bar a few of the more popular acts (Joy Division, PIL, The Cure, etc.)
At least Giorgio Moroder has some credibility for his influence on the dancefloor and electro scene...think Sparks, Depeche Mode, Human League, etc. And Donna Summer's I FEEL LOVE is widely considered a landmark cut in the history of dance music and influenced bands like Soft Cell, Heaven 17 and many of the aforementioned Post-Punk & New Wave bands with one eye on the dancefloor (A Certain Ratio, New Order, etc)
