The Cure 'Disintegration' 3CD reissue

Postby AlwaysSaturday » Thu Jun 03, 2010 2:49 am

I have to say that I'm really enjoying this reissue.

Instead of waiting to until June 8 to buy Disintegration 3-CD for $30+ here in the States, I ordered it from Amazon UK a week and half ago and got it in the mail day before yesterday for $19.18 US dollars, including shipping.

The remastered album has a warm sound that brings out the best of the expansive music. The same rule apples that "This album is mixed to be played loud, so turn it up."

<br>well said - all of you! i have good vinyl transfers of these original 12" mixes (and some are from the cd video singles issued in the late '80s) if anybody wants/ needs. let me know, and i'll post them. i believe some of them appear on various retro:active comps, yes?

i've got:
primary 12" mix
the love cats 12" mix
just one kiss 12" mix
let's go to bed 12" mix
the walk - couple of mixes that are pretty cool, but i don't believe there was a "real" one if my memory serves correct. i think the 12" just had the same mix as the 7".
a japanese dream 12" mix
boys don't cry 12" mix
in between days 12" mix
close to you 12" mix

[/quote]Hi clarence, do u still have these up? i would like to have them if possibel, on Filesend. thanks a bunch!!

Clarence......instead of them giving us all of these remixes/extendeds(or some), they overwhelm us w/those shitty demos? Thats what I mean by them fucking all of the remsters up. What harm could it have done if they would've released these mixes on the 2nd discs?

i would love to re-post the mixes again but can't for the moment at least. my primary (no pun intended!) external hard drive is in the shop and i'm praying that all of the files on it - my entire music collection - will be restored. i've hooked up my secondary/ backup external hd, but when i copied my primary to my secondary it didn't retain all of the filetags. it saved most of them, but for those 1,000 or so tracks missing info... it'd be a bit of a needle in the haystack to have to correct them. and by them, i mean 83,000 or so tracks to sift through. major, major ugh. so... i'm going to wait and see first in hopes i can save myself literally months of painstaking file corrections (was told i should know by this weekend whether or not what the shop can salvage - just a few more days). if they saved it all, i'll be able to repost by early next week. sorry for the lengthy message. dj phoenix: i'd heard rumor a year or two back that supposedly the cure will reissue/ remaster at some point (who knows if/ when) the 1990 'mixed up' compilation with at least one bonus disc (but they'd really need two by my count, anyway) that would contain all of the original remixes from "primary" through "never enough". cross those fingers! i have a decent transfer of 'in orange' (imho) on cd & dvd and 'staring at the sea' on dvd i did years ago from the laserdiscs, but any interested parties would have to wait till my computer/ hd stops having "issues"! on a tangent: will we ever get the song "killing an arab" remastered?
