New M. Sweet/S. Hoffs album

New M. Sweet/S. Hoffs album

I was always a huge fan of the jangle pop/power pop side of New Wave, and "Girlfriend" is one of my top five all-time albums, so I was pleased to see that Matthew Sweet and Susannah Hoffs are releasing an album called "Under the Covers, Vol. 1" covering great 60s pop. I have it on pre-order!

I love them both too but I found an advance for this a few weeks ago (for a buck!) and while some of it is great it's very hit and miss. Some songs are kinda cheesy. I wish they would have done some originals.

Good caveats, thanks. Of course, sometimes cheese can be very tasty! [:D]

Funny I just came across this on You Tube, A GREAT <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSzNb-p2ftQ" target="blank">live rendition of 'Cinnamon Girl'</a> featuring Matthew, Suzanna and the legendary G.E. Smith.

Man it's amazing how differently people age. Suzanna looks ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS![:p]

As for poor Mat, well.. he looks like he should be getting back to the record store after the gig to finish off those Domino double sausage and cheese pizzas that are sitting there for him.[xx(]

Definitely should take some graceful male aging tips from G.E. whose almost 15 years his senior![^]

Their Stuff Sounds Great Nonetheless.. [8D]

I was also amazed to see how badly MattLoaf (or should it be SweetLoaf) has let himself go. Who knows? Maybe Susanna likes fatasses .. I know I'd gladly gain 100 lbs. for her.

Great video Rich - thanks for posting it. [8D]
