Anyone ever here of this old PVC records compilation?I just rediscovered it in my Vinyl collection. The whole title is :
Fast Product-Mutant pop 78/79
all recordings are direct to 2 disk either 2 or 16 track originals.
Featuring:The Mekons: "Never been in a riot, 32 weeks, where were you""
2.3:"Where to now,All time low.
The Human League:"Being boiled, circus of death"original mono direct to 2 track reording recorded Jan 1978
Gang of Four:"Damaged Goods,Love like anthrax,Armalite rifle" recorded 06/28-29 1978
SCARS:"Adult/ERY,Horrorshow"
Flowers:Confessions,After Dark"
I don't remember ever buying it, but wow, all are alternative versions I've never heard before. Anyone else have this?

I have this. It's weird, because I looked for it forever and finally found it. Then within 6 months after getting it, I saw three more copies in the used vinyl bins.

There's a couple versions of it, with different covers.. the one on PVC and the one

Is that a 10" record, or am I thinking of Short Circuit at the Electric Circus?

I have both of those.

I just heard The Mekons track on an old mix tape.

Here's what Robert Christgau had to say oh so long ago:

I'm assuming everyone knows this, but maybe not..the group Flowers on the Fast Product comp. eventually became Icehouse.

I wonder if the other Flowers band on the Mutant Pop comp was the reason for the Australian Flowers changing their name to Icehouse (upon preparing to release their debut album worldwide in '81)?

Oh wow....it sounds like I've had the wrong assumption about Flowers on the Mutant Pop release. But I know that Iva Davies and company started out as a group called Flowers...I believe just plain Flowers....I remember seeing a single by them (overpriced)

You're correct, Iva Davies' Icehouse was originally known as just Flowers. Sorry for the confusion ... I was just trying to distinguish the two. I still wish they would remaster the US Version of the Icehouse debut (very hard to find on CD now) -- the mix

I have a tape of the US release (Fast>Products Mutant Pop 78-79) with the Flowers songs on it. I taped it from a record and didn't bother copying down the track listing. I know all the bands except Human League, and I'm not sure which song is which by the
