I will refer you to this thread. Atlantics were an 80's Boston band with loads of never released material--just put out on cd for the first time. Trust me you will like them.

It was one of those "Shame on me" questions for not knowing one of my local bands!!!!

Okay, I've listened to the first 11 tracks (of 13), I have to say that I am only familiar with Popshivers (love that false ending), even though I listened to Boston FM radio (WBCN) for 11 of 12 years (1973-1985). I wasn't much of a clubber, but these guys must have been awesome live; high energy! Did you see them live? It seems to me that they must have played The Rat every week, or The Channel. I'll have to give it a few more spins before I form an opinion.
Too bad that 2 members are no longer with us[:(]

Oddly enough--even though I pride myself in the fact that I saw live most every local band of the era--The Atlantics escaped me. [:(] Thus the reason I owned Wrong Number for over 20 years and not knowing who it was!!![:o)]

Thanks randy for pushing this one. The only thing that I had ever heard from them was Pop Shivers.
My copy of the CD arrived last week and I have just had a chance to listen to it this afternoon.
Great stuff!!
Can't believe that these guys were not able to get an official album release in the early 80s.

I was pushy simply because they are extremely unknown, released a cd of many previously unreleased tunes that I see as going OOP very soon, and it is a cd that I cannot imagine anyone NOT liking!!![:D] (If you like my taste in music in the least , you WILL like this cd )
Plus--I always root for the hometown folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
