A friend of mine is overseeing a new reissue label called American Beat Records. I'm sure most of the stuff on their first batch of releases will not appeal to most people here, but, they are doing Pelican West by Haircut 100, and I think there will be bonus tracks on it. Here's their first batch of releases:
First street date is January 9:
Brian Setzer - Knife Feels Like Justice/Live Nude Guitars 2-fer
Gary U.S. Bonds - Dedication/On The Line 2-fer
Ian Hunter - All Of The Good Ones Are Taken
Graham Parker - Another Grey Area
George Jones - The Grand Tour
The second street date is January 23:
Ian Hunter - Welcome To The Club
Dr. Hook - Pleasure & Pain/Makin' Love & Music 2-fer
Haircut 100 - Pelican West - with bonus tracks
Graham Parker - The Real Macaw
G. Jones & T. Wynette - Golden Ring
I think they are going to be doing Playground by The Truth as well (one of my suggestions!) They're definitely open to suggestions, so go ahead and post them here. I'll let them know about this thread.

The Graham Parker re-issues might be interesting, assuming there is bonus material (right ST?).

The Fleshtones back catalogue would be a natural for a label named "American Beat"

No website yet. They're being distributed via AEC out of Florida, and that company will pitch the product to websites and record stores. They're working on getting stuff on Amazon, too.

Korova,
Check the Flipper site. Re-issues on the way in 2007. Best band ever.

With or without bonus tracks, it's good to see "Another Grey Area" coming back into print. I had thought "The Real Macaw" had already come back into print recently, albeit as an import on Lemon Records. On the Razor & Tie previous issues, "Mercury Poisoning" and "I Want you Back" were the bonus tracks to each of those albums respectively. I don't know if they show up on any other compilations, but I'm sure they do somewhere. To be honest, I don't know what could be included as bonus tracks that wasn't released already (unless it would be demo or live stuff), but I can't see a re-issue label going to the trouble of getting that stuff for release.

Awesome news about the Flipper re-releases. It is hard to believe it's taken so long for some of this stuff to see the light of day.

Seeing that a few of these are ARISTA releases on the American Beat label. I agree with gumby on Shriekback - Jam Science... that used to be on Arista/Ariola Germany if I remember correctly. Make it happen!!!!

I will gladly fork over the cash for Playground by The Truth. What a great album.

I found it very disappointing considering how great their early singles and EPs were. It had similiar sound to their early stuff but lacked the hooks that made it so good.
