rick nelson's only cbs/epic release called, "intakes" from 1977 (produced by rick nelson and keith olsen) is finally out on cd thru epic records in europe.
i just picked mine up the other day.
the cd contains the entire intakes album along with 4 bonus tracks that were actually released in 1980 on cbs records as a 10" disc, part of cbs's new wave launch called,,"NU DISK".
the 10" (nu-disk) was called,"four you".....

From allmusic.com:

Nelson would continue to record off and on for the next dozen years and toured constantly, yet he was unable to capitalize on his assets. A big part of the problem was that although Nelson wanted to play contemporary music, he didn't write much of his own material, which was a basic precept of self-respecting rock acts after the advent of the Beatles. Nor did he tap into good outside compositions, and there's little of interest on the albums he recorded over the last decade or so of his life. (1975-1985)

Hey georgie, I'm sure your church has more important things to add to their prayer list than an enormous list of the people who are sick of your inane posts and tell you how ridiculous most of them are. I think Barmy nailed this one.

C'mon Georgie.....seriously. Why would you post something about Rick Nelson on the "New Wave Outpost"? I know people bash the hell out of you here but it seems to me that you're egging them on.

Some of us appreciate your enthusiasm but really now....Rick Nelson?

I'm actually inteterested in this release and without seeing this post I would most likely be unaware of it. Thanks for posting this even if many do not care because I do and I like all kinds of music and this will be cool to own on CD, to each his/her own

I intend to keep this Board fully informed when every obscure non-New Wave "artist" gets a re-release. I'm sure my efforts will be much appreciated. BTW, does everyone know that most of David Cassidy's oeuvre is available in Japan?

Not unless you pad the announcement with poorly written, over punctuated drivel.

I dunno, guys...the album's co-produced by Keith Olsen, has songs that were part of the Nu-Disc series, and is of personal interest to this forum member, and at least one other. Seems like certain parties are overreacting here. I wouldn't be terribly offended by news about David Cassidy releases, either, since that's awfully close to the power-pop/new-wave bloodline. Maybe some folks here need to quit acting like this site is their chance to finally be the high-school bully.

you're so right union....the cd is awesome,,it does have some power pop moments to it & i never thought that rick nelson's "NU DISK" release would ever be on cd,since it was part of cbs's new wave program of releasing 10" discs, marketing the series to the new wave movement.
some of the other releases/artists in the NU DISK series were...
CHEAP TRICK,RICK NELSON,PROPAGANDA (not the german band, propaganda were british),NEW MUSIK...i think there were other releases too but the bands escape me so if you know them post them...
