The Hooters - Amore EP

The Hooters - Amore EP

Postby fritzb » Tue Apr 01, 2003 10:43 am

A couple years ago I submitted the Hooters "Amore" EP (1983) for the Album Wish List. I'm pleased to report that it was finally released on CD for the first time in November of 2001 by its original indy Antenna Records label.

In conjunction with the CD release, there was a Philly radio station (WMMR) sponsered concert featuring a number of 80's acts including The Hooters and David Lee Roth, among others. The concert marked the 20th Anniversary of one of WMMR's longtime DJ's, Pierre Robert, who played The Hooters first demo tape on the air in 1980! Interestingly, that first demo track "Man In The Street" is included on the new CD as a bonus track, as well as a live cover of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" from the 1986 Amnesty International Concert at Giants Stadium.

I don't know how widely available the CD is. I haven't seen it offered by any of the major internet CD outlets, but it is in stores in the Philly area, The Hooters old stomping grounds.

I finally found an online source for this hard to find Indy reissue:
