Anyone have any info on the reissue coming from Cherry Pop on 2/18 (one day after my 40th birthday?)

Scott - did you handle the mastering on this?

I'll buy it regardless, but I'm worried that if Scott did not master it, that the sources used might be questionable.

"The More You Live, The More You Love" is one of my favorite AFOS tunes. I still have a tape of when VH-1 Classic played the video for me. And I still maintain that "Never Again (The Dancer)" should have been a huge hit. The guitar is amazing on that tune!

[:0] As this is one of my favorite AFOS discs. I hope they include some good bonus material, and/or mixes to the reissue. Is that the US release, or UK? I also hope the quality is VG, as shoddy vinyl rips tend to tick me off, as they ruin great songs.

Also, wasn't there talk of releasing a remixes cd of them? I remember reading about it a few years back in a magazine, then nothing.

Nope, I had nothing to do with this. I didn't even know about it until a few weeks ago.

This is one of the very few albums still missing in my collection although I downloaded it via torrent, it pops up once in a while on ebay but quite expensive and not necessarily genuine. So crap or not, I will get it for the sake of the collection. [:D]

One of the cd's I keep missing to get so I will definitely pick it up this time around. The Cherry Red thing scares me though especially if anyone of you who picked up the Danse Society album would know. Too bad Scott didn't remaster this one.

I have the , which I assume is a legitimate import (I think the label is called Beehive, if I recall). They actually issued the first 3 AFOS albums on cd in the early 90's, and included some alternate tracks that I haven't seen on cd since. Anyone else have these? Are they legit reissues?

I have this http://www.discogs.com/release/548258 which has no alternative mixes or extra tracks. Looking on there as well the first self titled album is there albeit in it it's original form with no extras unless you include tokyo. Listen is there as well and is the same as the track sequence of the original cassette release of the album which is interesting they do appear to be legitimate releases though.

I have the Beehive issue of the first album, and it is an official release. Very skimpy artwork, but a good, flat transfer of the master tapes. I did have the Beehive CD of "Listen", but parted with it when the U.S. reissue came out, since I liked those bonus tracks better.

Thanks for the clarification moni...I wondered where the extra tracks on Listen came from. And yes, Tokyo is the extra track I had noticed on the first album.

Rubellan, it will be interesting to see how the upcoming Cherry Red release compares with the Beehive version.

my 2 cents :
The More You Live, The More You Love on the ''We Are The 80's'' vh1
cd BLEW me away, the remastering SHOCKED me.
i consider myself an audiophile, i rely on my ears and take great pleasure in a great mastered disc and always try to seek out the best possible version of tracks. i use that track from that cd to show off my car system...it has lots of full bass, not flat by any means and not ''loud and harsh''.....so i can't wait to hear this new remaster to see how it compares.
We are the 80's comps are very good, the Loverboy cd is fantastic also(!)

I received my copy today and the first thing I noticed was the sound quality on the bonus tracks. They appear to be vinyl rips but they are cleaned up rather nicely. I'm actually quite surprised that they sound as good as they do. Anyway, the volume is too loud on the bonus tracks but this should be a given because most CD releases in the last 3 or so years have this thing where they think if the sound is at the max it will sound better. The Boomtown Rats releases are a prime example of this. The album tracks are an obvious flat transfer of the original CD.
