yes, i know i just posted about the "fascination" ep, but as i am wont to do, i also am wondering what you all know about their discography.

a quick look at various discographies online shows me that not a lot is left unreleased on digital. here's what i dug up:

sound of the crowd- "add your voice" and "instrumental" versions
love action- the full hard times/love action mix 10:11, and the instrumental 11:06.
open your heart- full open your heart/non stop mix 8:15, instrumental 8:41.
you remind me of gold instrumental mix
thirteen 7" mix
the lebanon instrumental mix 5:06
the sign remix (on the 7") 4:33

there is a "do or die" dub edit form methods of dance, but it was just released finally on cd this summer. i wish i had it! it's 6:26.

and is the "dub" version of "fascination" the same as the "improvisation" mix?

and i have a feeling that one of those "dare" era versions is on a dance compilation of recent times, but don't remember.

anything to add to this? it seems like we really don't have much more to go with unreleased on digital stuff!

Depends on how obsessive you want to get:

The original vinyl mix of The Path Of Least Resistance is not available, just the weird remix that appeared on the CD versions of Reproduction.

7" edit of You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling not available anywhere digitally.

The Australian version of Marianne is not available anywhere digitally.

I don't think the long version of Toyota City is available.

And yes the dub/improvisation mixes are the same.

i draw the line at pre-"dare"... i don't care for the first two albums, i like the pop stuff.

I have the CD3 from 1988. Tracks 1&2 do segue together in a sense - they are separately 5:05 and 5:06. The version of "Hard Times" on the recent "Original Remixes & Rarities" is the faded out version that appeared on my US "Fascination!" EP, NOT the full length version. Tracks 3&4 are the full instrumental tracks (5:44 & 5:23), not the somewhat edited versions that appear on "Love And Dancing".

The "Open Your Heart / Non-Stop" "mix" doesn't really exist. The 12" single makes it sound like it's a combined mix but it's actually just the original album version of "Open Your Heart" (3:56) followed by the original 7" mix of "Non-Stop" (4:19) = 8:15

The instrumental mix of "Open Your Heart / "Non-Stop" however IS a combined mix of instrumental dubs of both songs and is one of my favorite League tracks ever!!!

Just checked on the "Thirteen" 7" mix. The recent Caroline reissue of "Hysteria" has the 5:04 version which also appeared on the US 7" of "Lebanon". Looks like other countries had the shorter 4:10 version without the false fade of the 5:04 version. So in effect, yes the 7" is available on CD - you just have to edit off the false fade after 4:10 hehehe

i love that you have all this stuff, to clear things up! thanks for the info about the remixes- how is the "add your voice" and "instrumental" mixes different, if you know? it sounds like it would be the same, by name alone.

and have you heard the remix of "the sign"? what does that sound like?

I don't think the 7" edit of "Rock N Roll" is on CD. It was on the re-release of the Holiday '80 EP and clocks in at 3:15 (basically faded out before the segue into "Nightclubbing.")

The remix of "The Sign" was the b-side of "Louise". Remember I am from the USA so all we really were exposed to from "Hysteria" was "The Lebanon". I remember thinking at the time that "The Sign" would make a great single so I was happy to (almost 20yrs later) discover that they did at least do a remix of it. The 2005 Caroline reissue of "Hysteria" does include that remix (5:16) as well as 4 other bonus tracks. The 2005 remasters of "Hysteria" AND "Crash" are available on iTunes complete with all the bonus tracks.

I would assume the "Add Your Voice" mix of "Sound Of The Crowd" is the same as the "Instrumental" (4:12) but all I own is the UK 12" - I don't have any of the records that list "Add Your Voice".

nope- it's an entirely different affair from the extended version released with "hysteria"- the remix on the bside of "louise" is 4:33. the extended (on the recent reissue) is 5:12. album version is 3:49, so that's not it. i wonder who has it???

as for "add your voice"- it's got a 3:05 time, which is over a minute shorter than the instrumental version (4:11). so it's different, i just wonder how...

oh, i'm american too- so i only ever knew "the lebanon" as a single also- throw in being from a small texas border town and there was a whole lot of music i missed!
