Not too exciting on CTTB, I'd rather have the 7" remixed version of Pleasure Of Love than the instrumental.

Well...it's an interesting release. Strange choice of bonus tracks on the eponymous album - my original CD has the extended Wordy Rappinghood and Genius of Love on them, but they've been missed off here. And then some strange 'single' versions (it's the B side of Wordy Rappinghood f'rinstance, there would've been room to put the A side on too!). Close to the Bone (always the better album anyway) is glorious although again, missing some 7" edits but at least all the 12"s are there. Nice packaging, nice reproduction and worth a 6 out of 10 for the incomplete first album and a magnificent 12 out of 10 for the marvellous Close to the Bone. All we need is a decent (ie accurate 7" versions) singles collection and the rest of their back catalogue given a decent overhaul.

Yes I agree - I much prefer the 12" mixes of Wordy Rappinghood and Genius Of Love to the album versions. I have that US Sire CD too and the sound is very thin on it, this edition is a huge upgrade in sound quality but not in choices of bonuses.

It is a long time since I've seen my 12" copy so I can't remember - but is there an extended version of Under The Boardwalk?

well, tried to order my copy from Amazon this morning, the release date, but their site went from a release date of May 19 yesterday to now saying not in stock. Amazon has been doing this more and more lately. Has it been released and amazon just didn't bother getting copies in their warehouses yet?

I've noticed that with Amazon also. It makes me wonder if they only order one or two copies up front?

well, usually, if it IS released on time, some amazon marketplace sellers I buy from regularly have it listed immediately. When amazon says it's out of stock immediately, the only marketplace sellers who list it are overseas sellers, so I can only assume that means the domestic release has been postponed.
