Mute records have released the tracklisting for the forthcoming 21st anniversary edition of The Innocents, and I think you're going to like it!

CD 1 – THE INNOCENTS (remastered)
This is the original Innocents album in a remastered edition and it sounds great, I'm sure you know the tracklisting already, but here it is again just in case...

CD 2 – B-SIDES, REMIXES & RARITIES (remastered)
Something for everyone on this CD, which includes the much sought after 7" version of River Deep Mountain High, the US mixes of Chains Of Love and A Little Respect and four previously unreleased tracks from the BBC's 'In Concert' recording of Erasure at London's Hammersmith Odeon on The Innocents tour back in 1988.

Yes, I know, I'm like 10 years late, but where/how was "River Deep Mountain High (7" Version)" released originally?

Believe it was the Australian 7" from comments at the time of this release. Track length doesn't match the Discogs listing though. CD reissue track is 3:19 but the 7" listing on Discogs shows 7:03 which seems like it could be wrong. The booklet just states 'Rare 7" Mix' without listing the source.

It was only in Australia that this song was an A-side, but in the rest of the world it was an extra track on the SHIP OF FOOLS 12" and CD-maxi, but only as a long 7 minute version called "Private Dance Mix by Erasure" and a 5:42 version called "Warm Depths Mix by Pascal Gabriel". This is strange.. and the CD has no "star" that denotes whether any track is previously unreleased.

PS the Australian 7" listed here
https://www.discogs.com/Erasure-River-Deep-Mountain-High-Ship-Of-Fools/release/3677686

lists the duration as 7:01, BUT if you look at the scans, the duration is not on it.
So, either the person who submitted it clocked it, or guessed/assumed.
The truth is still out there...

I'm not being flippant,
but with all of these remasters,
can't anyone get it right the first time?

Absolutely spot on, they remaster the remastered, they should get it right first time! I have to be honest most of the remastered releasesd these days sound awful.
