White Door - Windows

White Door - Windows

Postby Yachtingtype » Fri Oct 30, 2009 3:07 am

This has to be the best release by far this year. I just got word from Harry Davies of White Door that the CD will be released this coming month, November on CD with bonus tracks from the original master tapes. It will be released on Cherry red records. There is plenty of hope left in the new wave world. Let's all rejoice to finally have this album on CD.

Except the Love Breakdown 12" (and 7", for that matter).

Excellent compilation. They were virtually flawless in their early 80s synthpop sound. Too bad the 12" of Love Breakdown wasn't included (although it's only like 30 seconds longer than the LP version). Also, the single for Way of the World had a b-side called "The Extra". Anyone ever heard it? Wondering if it was any good. Or maybe it was just a different version of the a-side, like an instrumental or dub or something considering it's called 'the extra'.

White Door - The Extra:

This song is about the singer being in love with a girl who has a role as an extra in a documentary.

Wow. Thanks Brambo. That track is a gem--better than some of the other b-sides on the CD. Tragic that it didn't make the disc.

This track sounds exactly the same as Track 10 on the CD.. do I have a unique CD [?]

A great album. Pity none of the 12" mixes were included as bonus.. was hoping for the Flame In My Heart 12"

wow. yipyipcoyote, you're absolutely right. It IS track 10 on the disc. Does this mean the label screwed up and included The Extra instead of Way of the World???

Yep, looks like the last track is mislabeled. [;)] Has anyone contacted Cherry Red about this?

Also is it Flame In My Heart or Flame Of My Heart

And

Kings Of The Oriental or Kings Of The Orient

Looks like these may also be a mistake?
