Yes the three original members Norman Rodger, Ally Palmer and Neil Baldwin along with long-time friend Simon McGlynn on drums. We got back together in 2005 and released a new album Forever 22 last year.

Cheers Ally for visiting!

I have the Forever 22 album and it's fantastic. I know many people have been waiting a long time for the classics to be issued on CD. My vinyl to CD rip has been on mass rotation in anticipation of the reissue.

Was the band involved in the remastering and track selection and did the label use the master tapes?

Thanks for the kind words. We're happy with the way Forever 22 turned out and it's great being back together again.

Norman has been working hard to master it though it's not from the master tapes. We just weren't able to track them down.

We selected the tracks and are working on the sleeve and 16 page booklet right now. It includes some old stories and memorabilia. Even the ad for our first drummer! Please spread the word.
Ally

Thank you for being honest.

I hope they do a good job with whatever sound source they are using

I believe it is a good thing anytime the band is involved in the reissue. Leave it in the hands of the record company, and anything can happen, but when the band is involved, there is a great degree of care to make sure it is just right. After all, the fans have been waiting decades for this release and with the band in full comeback mode, it makes complete sense that the reissue would be done right.

It's up to us, the fans and supporters of great music, to ensure the word gets out and as many people possible buys this release. Of course if you're fortunate enough to live in the UK (I'm not) then please make sure you get out there and see them live.

So what is the verdict on this, given that it was taken from vinyl? Thinking of getting this..

I want to get this. If it is from vinyl, I know there are sound engineers that can still make it perfectly quiet and sound excellent. Hopefully that will be the case. I just don't want it to be like The Scars CD a few years back that is just painfully full of pops and clicks that is is just not something I could listen to. That was such a disappoint and also very pricy at about $30 for something clearly from vinyl with very little effort to get rid of any noise. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this release will be mastered well and vinyl/surface noise not evident. That would be great.

Received my copy this week and after a few listens I can hear no issues with the mastering...well done to the band for makling it sound fantastic despite not being able locate the master tapesm

The packaging is fantastic...alot of care was put into this release and it is visually appealing...everything you want in this age of the digital download.

One flaw was spotted...the running order on the disc is different than the running order listed on the sleeve...Snakes and Ladders is listed at track 8 but is actually track 13 and one of the other tracks is out of order as well...I will be notifying Cherry Red of the error.

All up, great sound and great packaging for this long overdue reissue and CD debut.

No worries...they did do a great job despite the mastering from vinyl...I didn't pick up any pops and hiss, etc...but nothing beats remastering from the original tapes...just keep that in mind when listening...it does sound good in the car, but everyone has a different expectation level on how things should sound...I for one appreciate this is finally on CD!

Cheers!
