thesecondfuture.net - Am 31.01.2005 erscheint nun endlich die "BEST OF WESTSIDE"-CD.
THE SECOND FUTURE HAS JUST BEGUN

Oh my god, I'm going to pee in my pants. Westside is coming back! I kind of thought they would with the re-release of Celebrate The Nun's "Meanwhile" and the recent trance/frankfurt crossovers. This is so freakin awesome!!! MCL "Code Numbers" on cd, wow!!!

It would be so great if they did a best of Axodry cd. A great Westside various artists compilation would be:
THE 12" COLLECTION
Moskwa TV - The Art Of Fashion
Axodry - Surrender
Few Boys - Secret Times
JWB Hits The Beat - One Day In My Life
Moskwa TV - Brave New World
The League Of Gentleman - Humatic
Boys From Brazil - Still Loving You
Okay - Why? Boys
Axodry - You (Original 12" Version)
Boys From Brazil - Hot Stuff
Voyou - Houseman 90
MCL - Stranger
Hope they decide to do this.

for sean I did find one cd comp on ebay a month back. It was one of only two comps from westside on cd that I know of. The tracks are:
westside digital collection (of 12 inch originals)
axodry - feel it right
two of china - telk mee (wild version)
few boys - secret times 9secret dub)
moskwa tv - tekno talk (dirty talk)
mcl -communicate (us mix)
mcl - satellite (us mix)
central unit - computer music (hardware mix)
ace - generator 7/8 (ft. moskwa tv)
The other was of the 88 label and I have not found a copy yet.
I am glad to see the Moskwa TV reissues even though I spent 3 months remastering all of the remixes from vinyl to make my own greatest remix hits cd.
There is also a mention of some of the Best Beats of Westside lp remix albums being reissued. If you go to theseconndfuture.net you can use an online translator to translate. (If your german is as bad as mine).
Maybe they will be sucessful and start on New Zone/TechnoDrome Internation releases as well. All in the name of Talla.

Hi James,
I have that cd too and another one that's kind of similar to it that has Celebrate The Nun. They are awesome. The songs that I named are the ones that haven't found their way on cd (excluding Razormaid) yet or are just hard to find essentials of Westside. The Axodry "You" is the original 12" version which I believe is different from the Beauty & The Beast version. I've always seen it listed but have never heard it.
It would be amazing if they re-released all the New Zone - Technodrome stuff too. Robotiko Rejekto, Indicate, etc. Amazing stuff.

Hey Sean, I still can't find a track list on TBOW. It is listed for sale as of 1-31-05 on amazon Germany w/o any info:
http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... 90-8088501
I have also read that there will be a Best Beats from Westside and Seven Eleven. I wonder if they will combine the vinyl releases (I think there were 3.) I was going through a Westside discography and was wondering if you have heard any of the OK singles after Why? Boys. I saw a cd single on ebay last night (Western...) that came out on zyx but it was getting close to $40. Just curious because I like both ok and why but didn't know what the others were like. There is a good new zone comp domestic in us (don't know if it is still in print) called Electronic Classix that I found new in Tower a few months back. It is a double with mostly original full 12" mixes even though the mix names are not listed. I got it to fill in a few gaps with singles that were not on Technopolis series or that I only had a Razormaid version.
By the way Razormaid (which I have about 210 original CDs released a Vault series that has the original versions of several hard to find westside, TDI, and New Zone releases. The original Why Boys is on one of them, plus a promo only dub of Brave New World (MTV). I think that many have been remaster from vinyl but the sound quality is pretty good.
Oh just out of curiocity do you know who originally recorded Los Ninos Del Parque. I think it was Liasons Dangerous, but am unsure. I got the original 12" by Two of China on CD and it was odd to hear after only having the Razormaid for so long. Back in the day they did a great job of re-editing the early electronics.

I think I'm going to buy that Best of Westside cd comp regardless of the tracklisting. I may have a lot of it already but I just want to support the label. Hopefully, they'll include songs that I don't already have.

I heard that Achim Volker is a part of the second coming so that's kind of cool. He's the guy who helped co-produced the Celebrate The Nun cd's along with Axel Henninger.
I really think all of the OK singles sound similar. If you like one or two of them, you will like them all. "Wild Wild Western" maybe the weakest though out of their singles. "Okay", "Education", and "Why Boys" are my favs. Does that Electronic Classix have a purple cover with two discs?
I saw the Vault series on the Razormaid page but I just hate the fact that they are only releasing cd-r's. I stopped buying Razormaid cd's when they did this. How is the new remastering job for the Razormaid's? I used to love Razormaid's but the initial releases were often to bassed up. It's cool for some songs but the ones that were already bassy became too bassy.
I think I can find out that "Los Ninos Del Parque" answer for you. I'll get back to you.

Yes the electronic classix is purple.
It has all original 12 versions even though the mix names are not all listed. Most of them I had the Razormaid or the song on other comps but this was one of the most comprehensive of New Zone. Another great comp for TDI was Techno Trax vol.1.
Tracks:
--1: Time Of War - Metropolis
--2: Hypnautic Beats - Konzept
--3: Fahrenheit - Umo Detic
--4: Bestialic Beat - Blind Vision
--5: Das Mass Der Dinge - U-Tek
--6: Future, The - Scope
--7: Evolution - Nostromo Dept. (Dalis S mix, Dali S Mix)
--8: Hallo - Master Program (Kwk mix, KWK Mix)
--9: Operation S.B. - Noise Control
--10: Last Night - Konzept (Spectral Mix)
--11: Techno La Droga V1.4 - Negrosex
--12: Tanz Den Teufel - Blind Vision
Disc 2:
--1: Carpe Diem - Umo Detic
--2: Sepuku Beat - Sons Of Nippon
--3: Central Europe - Master Program
--4: Don't Look At Me - Blind Vision
--5: Technoid - Technoid
--6: You Can Run - 3 Times 6
--7: Human Transmission - Konzept
--8: Poseidon - Metropolis
--9: Near Dark - Blind Vision
--10: Total Fire Ant Control - Master Program
--11: Metabolism - Noise Control
--12: Schwingungen - Voi
Original Release: 1996
Also do you know if any of the Generator 7/8 remixes were any good. (outside of the original MTV ones) I have the version with ACE but have never heard the 88, beat disaster or the one that Javellin did after Talla left.
Just curious because I am doing a compilation cd set of modern mixes of classics and wanted to add that to the list (if there is one that is good)

If I remember correctly, the 88 version is the best version. I think the reason I remember that is it is not as hard hitting. The original versions were to heavy at times. I'm pretty sure I have it at home and I'll listen to it again and let you know. The Javelin version is good too. It's probably the most radio friendly out of the versions. If you like "Tell Me Tell Me", it's pretty much the same style.

That's pretty awesome Paul. Have you received your cd yet? Just wondering if you could tell us which versions are extended versions or are they all album/radio versions. With 16 tracks, looks like the latter will be more likely.
Also, did you hear anything about the other releases?
