Yes a strange compilation. But then again, many (most) CDs today are, from our "fan-atic" point of view. It would have been better then to add the single versions and their B-sides as bonus tracks on CD 1, and the remix album and the 12" mixes on CD 2.

CD 1 extra tracks:
Smalltown Boy 3.58 [single version]
Memories 2.55 [B-side Smalltown Boy]
Why? (Remix) 5.13
Cadillac Car 3.54 [B-side Why]
It Ain't Necessarily So 4.05 [single version]
Close to the Edge 4.43 [B-side It Ain't Necessarily So]
I Feel Love 5.44 [single remix]
Puit D'Amour 1.38 [B-side I Feel Love]
The Potatoe Fields 2.59 [B-side 12" I Feel Love]
Signs (and Wonders) 5.00 [B-side 12" I Feel Love]
Run from Love (edit) 4.36

CD 2 extra tracks:
Smalltown Boy 9.00 [extended version]
Infatuation/Memories 7.38
Why? (Extended Mix) 7.44
Cadillac Car 7.28
It Ain't Necessarily So 5.22 [extended]
Red Dance 6.53
I Feel Love 9.44 [extended remix]
I Feel Love (Vocal - Cake Mix) 8.23
I Feel Love (Inst - Fruit Mix) 8.27

It's possible there would not be any room for all tracks, but I hope you understand my idea behind it: original LP, followed by bonus single tracks. Original remix LP, followed by original 12" single tracks. /JW

You could do an update Jonas but what about the post JS Bronski Beat? Will we see remasters of Truthdare Doubledare and also 1995's Rainbow Nation. Also Bronski Beat were planning an album in 1987 that never got released. It had guest vocals from various people including the lead singer of Strawberry Switchblade. Then of course we have JS's solo albums from London records (Read My Lips and Dare To Love). Also a DVD would be nice.

Yes I ask for too much.

And yes I like your idea Jonas. I like having everything in the right order. I think the recent a-ha remasters were quite good at doing that. It is a nightmare collecting an artist like Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yellow Magic Orchestra. Even though there is hardly any b-sides or remixes, all the rare tracks are scattered over several releases, some of which are very rare.

While Edsel claimed that all of Houndreds & Thousands is included, the track Infatuation/Memories on Hundreds & Thousands is missing too.

About Bronski Beat from 1985 onward (without Jimmy), yes I have started preparing a separate discography, because I like their music. All I need is some more time.

JS solo, not sure, first I want to do The Communards.

About HUNDREDS & THOUSANDS, the original vinyl LP only had 6 tracks (see my discography). The cassette and CD edition had four extra tracks: Infatuation/Memories 7.08 [fade-out] [B-side 12" Smalltown Boy], Close to the Edge 4.43 [B-side It Ain't Necessarily So],
I Feel Love [extended remix] 9.43, Cadillac Car 8.11 [B-side 12" Why]. So, these four extra tracks did not really "belong" to HUNDREDS & THOUSANDS, they were fillers. In 1985 after Jimmy left, he also left two new songs behind him: Run from Love & Hard Rain. Perhaps these were part of a planned second "proper" album before he decided to go hiw own way and start The Communards. /JW

PS another way would be to put THE AGE OF CONSENT (10 tracks) plus HUNDREDS & THOUSANDS (6 original tracks) on CD 1 - which would be the "Albums CD". Then single mixes, B-sides, 12" mixes etc on CD 2. It would look pretty neat.

Although these may not be perfect, they are pretty awesome. Looking forward to getting these.

Well, the release date is not June 25th, it's July 2nd. Also, the guy who does the Jimmy Somerville website has compiled them... so a big fanboy is involved! Also...

Jimmy's Read My Lips and Dare To Love are also coming out as 2CD remasters on July 30th! Tracklists not comfirmed yet.

I now added the 1986 Bronski Beat album to my discography
http://www.discog.info/bronskibeat.html

There was a twist, because one of my catalogues list "This Heart" as a single in Aug 1986, but neither www.discogs.com, ebay or amazon list it, so it must be a planned single that never came out. That would solve the "mystery" track on the CD (What Are You Going To Do About It) as it seemed to come out of nowhere. Now we know it was the planned B-side to the unreleased single. That means the CD must have been issued later in 1986, after the vinyl.

What collection CD (Bronski Beat/Communards etc) would you recommend if I want the single versions, preferably also some release info like release date, liner notes etc?

Great stuff Jonas. Sorry to be more picky but will you include the late 80's version of BB with Jonathon Hellyer? They had a hit with "cha cha heels" with Eartha Kitt and also released three further singles.
