Tears for Fears-The Hurting 2-disc and 4-disc sets

Looking forward to new music . What we need is a comprehensive 2cd singles collection as well. All the current TFF compilations out there are ok but I'm sure hardcore completists would want all the 7" versions together in one place .

To me the original version is superior to the later version and it is great that this is getting a CD release

Well, you can already see from the graph of this song that the set will be brickwalled. Fucking great...

That's a bummer on the audio Scott. Hopefully they do a good job on the video and include that TOTP appearance.

Although it doesn't look good, I'm not sure that we should be too concerned about the visuals (or even the sound) coming through from Soundcloud - my guess is they'd be running all those uploads through some sort of algorithm so as to keep some sort of consistency on the site. At least that's the hope that I'm clinging to [:)]

The Peel Sessions have now been posted on their Soundcloud page - https://soundcloud.com/tearsforfearsmusic

The graphs for these don't look as bad as the Pale Shelter 12" and aren't nearly as headache-inducing.

Got my 2cd version today. Remastering is excellent and well compiled. By the way i noticed that Change (New Version) runs for 4:40 min where as the vinyl version is 5:14min. Also the Ext mix for Change is 6:01min where as all previous cd and vinyl versions were 5:51min....

Yeah 5:14 so the CD is a complete fuck up then. Surprise surprise. Even more glad BTG ripped it good... It's on my hard drive in 24-bit FLAC!

My understanding is is that the 4:40 New Version of Change appeared on some 12" singles and the original UK cassette release of 'The Hurting'. The Canadian 12" release (http://www.discogs.com/Tears-For-Fears- ... se/1709289) contained the new version with a longer fade-out, adding about 30 seconds to the track.

If the mastering is well done, and in light of the fact that you get slightly longer mixes of 'Change' and the original mix of 'Pale Shelter (You Don't Give Me Love)', I don't see how you can categorize this as a "complete fuck up".

It is great to have DjPaulT's excellent rip as well though!

Agree upon DjPaulT's excellent work on BTG. The man should be a label's first priority if they're looking for a stellar vinyl rip. The care and execution are flawless.

Well, Analogue... Obviously i didn't realise that there were two versions obviously. Thought it was the usual kind of slack mistakes that record companies usually make!
